Personality: Sharkface is an angry, walking ball of contradictions well-personified by the dual water and fire motifs of his tattoos. On one hand, he's a dedicated mercenary who believes so strongly in the need for preparation and understanding both yourself and the enemy that he had the sentiment tattooed on his back. He's careful enough to research his opponents ahead of time and refrain from acting until the opportune moment, arming himself with gear chosen to counter specific threats. However, he's also an angry, violent man consumed with survivor's guilt. He refused to back down when he was clearly beaten, failed to pass on crucial information to his allies, and unironically took on the name Sharkface.

Yeah. He's that guy.

Another character notes that Sharkface has "a deep-rooted sense of contrarianism." In conversation he's polite but distant, preferring to watch events unfold from a distance...until someone makes it personal, and then he'll get in their face without a second thought. He agreed to let bystanders leave unarmed so long as he could fight Carolina one-on-one...and didn't hesitate to hand a planet killer over to a teammate who had no compunctions about using it. He's both a loner with a near complete disregard for the rest of the universe and a man who loved his teammates so deeply that he devoted his life to avenging their deaths. He's patient with his art, admonishing anyone who disrupts or tries to hurry the process, and impatient with mission briefings, an artist and a soldier, a murderer and a zealot. All of these things are true. All of these things are constantly warring with each other.

His personality and motivations are a source of frustration for the people around him, even when his goals seem simple. Even Aiden Price, a military psychologist and master manipulator, was unable to get much traction with him. Sharkface appears to fit neatly into a box at first glance, displaying personality traits and expectations that can be checked off, until he suddenly doesn't. The trouble - for the people around him, at least - is that Sharkface code-switches and jumps between objectives, fighting styles, and emotional extremes on a dime; everything about him is situational. In combat situations he's a cold professional...until someone makes it personal and he'll start screaming, abandoning tactics and, in a few cases, common sense. In conversation he's dismissive and sharp....until a person interests him and he immediately becomes much warmer. He has a system and style for nearly every situation and can switch between them with little effort, even when the systems appear contradictory.

Calling him two-faced is accurate, but too simple. Sharkface can change nearly every aspect of himself to "win" a given situation, but a few core truths remain regardless. He was incredibly loving with his family of choice. He's hopelessly dramatic, consumed by a need to present himself to the world in a certain way (armor, tattoos, using a distinctive prosthetic versus an eyepatch, even his syntax), and stubborn beyond any reasonable means. He's patient enough to plan out his entire battle strategy ahead of time and angry enough to abandon it the moment Carolina offers him an apology - something unscripted. If he can predict the outcome of a situation, then he can stick with whatever role he assigned himself. It's when things go off-script that Sharkface becomes unpredictable, even to himself.

Though we don't see Sharkface and his teammates in many scenes, the Insurrectionists are shown to be a group of flashy personalities, distinct fighting styles, and seamless collaboration. They joke and banter with each other, they disagree with each other but work past it, they mourn when one of their fellows is injured or killed, and their commander flat out refuses to even consider leaving his team behind. They (and Sharkface) were intensely loyal to each other. Of all the combat teams in Red vs. Blue, the Insurrectionists are probably the most seamless: they trusted each other without question, and their deaths had a huge impact on Sharkface. They were his family - his only family, as he emphasizes in one scene - and he refuses to let their deaths go unanswered. He loved them deeply.

Though Sharkface does have a sense of morals, they're highly situational and prone to falling on the wayside if he gets angry enough. He has a bad temper and a flair for the dramatic that's only gotten worse since his teammates died, prompting him to taunt his enemies in the middle of a fight - behavior he did not previously show - and a tendency towards tunnel vision. There's nothing left for him except revenge, and he'll stop at nothing to see it through. What happens afterward, or what he has to do in the middle, is irrelevant. He showed no hesitation at handing the keys to the Purge protocol over to Felix, knowing it had the potential to kill off the entire population of Chorus. It got him one step closer to murdering Carolina and Washington, and that was the only thing that mattered.

At this point he's unable to imagine a world where the Freelancers apologize, let alone one where he forgives them. Everything he's done and intends to do is related to his revenge mission; there is nothing else. Though he's not actively suicidal, Sharkface ultimately doesn't care about his own life one way or another at this point in canon. It will impact his behavior.

*A note on names: canon is a little unclear on this point. In one interview it's given as Terrence Ephemera Sharkface, but in canon it's stated that "Sharkface" is a nickname the character came up with in reference to his physical appearance. Unless this is clarified one way or another, I'll be going with Terrence Ephemera as his given name and Sharkface as a nickname. He will refer to himself by one or the other depending on the situation.

NEW POWER: Projected Thermography - the power to imprint marks onto surfaces without the need of scribing tools. At the beginning, it will only work on inanimate, nonliving surfaces (and, importantly, will not work in the digital sphere). The marks will only appear as fast as Sharkface could reasonably draw them by hand.

POWER REASONING: Sharkface is heavily defined by the marks others have left on him (scars both physical and otherwise), the marks he leaves on himself (tattoos, his modified gear), and his need to leave marks on other people. Because appearance and symbolism is so intrinsic to his character, this will make the connection tangible. Additionally, an ability that allows him to create art in a way that has no direct combat applications will force him to focus on something, even momentarily, unconnected to his revenge mission.

♚ FASHION: A literal walking armory. Even when decked out in full gear, Sharkface adds his own flair to things. All of his armor and weapons are outfitted with custom paint jobs. Shark motifs and geometric shapes are a favorite. Out of armor, he'll take slightly less care with his appearance. Most of his casual clothes will be paint-stained.

Armor

Enforcer model combat armor modified with stolen Freelancer tech.
Includes onboard Heads Up Display (HUD), environmental control, GPS, and radio unit. Though not impervious to either bullets or knives, the armor does provide an increased advantage. A survival suit is worn underneath.
Features include: gravity boots, closed environment (guess who won't be suffocating or suffering from poison anytime soon!) and personal shield. That being said, the Enforcer armor is vulnerable to being hacked.
